Eagles cruise by Sparkplugs

The South Putnam baseball team defeated Speedway 14-8 Monday night.

Brayden Freeman led the Eagles with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, including two doubles and three runs scored. Derek Dean was 1-for-3 with a home run, while Noah Boswell was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Cameron Chestnut went 2-for-5 at the plate and added two more stolen bases to his collection.

Drew Cash was 2-for-3 at the plate, with Robbie Gibson adding a 2-for-4 performance.

The Eagles collected 13 hits on the night, with eight-of-nine batters getting hits and scoring runs.

Grant Zimmerman picked up the win, collecting six strikeouts, while allowing 10 hits and giving up eight walks.
