Food for Fines

Monday, June 29, 2009
The Putnam County Public Library held its first Food for Fines program June 1-13. The program allowed adults with fines to bring in a food item and have $1 per item taken off their library account. The food brought in by patrons was donated to local food pantries. PCPL Director Alice Greenburg, left, and Margot Payne, director of communication at PCPL, present this collection of food to Jeff Fordice with Two Fish Food Pantry in Bainbridge along with Frances Washburne and Alice White, both with Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry in Greencastle. The Food for Fines program will be coming to the library again.
