Church Milestone

The Putnamville United Methodist Church hosted an event celebrating its 175th anniversary on Saturday. As part of the festivities, Phil Gick of the Heritage Preservation Society presents church member Susan Stewart with a plaque that is to honor the church on the Heritage Wall in downtown Greencastle. Also pictured are Erin Mahoney, who did the work to get the church put on the National Register of Historic Places while a DePauw student in the 1980s and Heritage Preservation Society Members, from left, Bob Matthews, Melissa Gough, Harold Spicer, Anne Phipps and Ken Heeke.

Georgia Sublette, left, was honored by United Methodist Women President Judy Faulk for her years of dedication to the church an especially the women's group. Sublette served as secretary of the organization for an amazing 42 years from 1965 until 2007.
