On Monday, a young boy fell from the high diving board at Greencastle Aquatic Center onto the concrete below.

Putnam County Operation Life transported him to Putnam County Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

Greencastle Parks and Recreation Director Rod Weinschenk said it was reported to the department Wednesday the boy suffered bumps and bruises from the fall.

"There were no broken bones," he added.

The youngster is expected to return to the park's Spark program very soon.

Putnam County Jail

Jesse Lawrence, 38, Guntersville, Ala., was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday for non-support of a child.

Christopher Hamblin, 24, Greencastle, was booked at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday for failure to appear and operating a vehicle as a habitual offender.

James Icenogle, 53, Poland, was booked at midnight Wednesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and as a habitual offender and public intoxication.

Herbert Dewbrew, 27, Burksville, was booked at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday for probation violation.

Kenneth Pardue, 62, Avon, was booked at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday for theft.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

On Monday, crews were dispatched to the corner of US 240 and Fillmore Road at 3:16 a.m. for an odor investigation. Nothing was found and they were back in service at 3:49 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Lonestar, 3301 S. 150W, at 9:27 a.m. Monday for a high angle rescue.

A Lonestar employee had fallen on an enormous rock pile and became trapped with a broken leg. Crews brought Tower 7, which contains a 100-foot ladder and basket, to help the worker down from the pile.

Putnam County Operation Life transported the employee to Putnam County Hospital. They were back in service at 10:20 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 405 S. Bloomington St. at 11:16 a.m. Monday for a medical assist. They were back in service at 11:30 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 609 Primrose Lane at 1:15 p.m. Monday to assist Greencastle Police Department. They were back in service at 3:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, crews were dispatched to 702 Avenue D at 7:03 a.m., but were disregarded en route. They were back in service at 7:08 a.m.
