Putnam County Jail

Paul Carter, 46, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at midnight Friday for domestic battery.

Aaron Jarrell, 19, Greencastle, was booked at 4:11 a.m. Friday for violation probation and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

At 7:08 p.m. Wednesday, Christopher Tanner of Brazil was traveling east on W. Walnut Street when a deer appeared in the roadway. Tanner swerved to avoid the animal, but went off the shoulder of the road, slid sideways and down an embankment. The passenger side of his vehicle hit a tree.

Seniors Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 209 W. Liberty St. at 8:40 a.m. Thursday for an odor scare. They were back in service at 9:01 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1601 Hospital Drive at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 2:51 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 98 N. 10th St. at 8 p.m. Thursday for a medical assist. They were back in service at 8:46 p.m.
