Donald Dale Boswell, 81, Brazil, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 18, 1927, in Putnam County, to Emory and Beulah (Cofer) Boswell.

Mr. Boswell graduated from Bridgeton High School with the class of 1945. While in high school, he was a member of the track, basketball, and baseball teams.

He married Naomi Wright Dec. 12, 1949. He worked for the Arketex Ceramics Corporation, Clay City Co-op, Wesland Co-op in Montezuma, retiring in 2003.

He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, Pacers basketball and Colts football. He also enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes, wood working and will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He was a member of the Way of the Cross Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years Naomi Boswell; son Mike Boswell and friend Dawn Barger; grandchildren, Andrew Killion and wife Heather of Crown Point and Autumn Drake and husband Sean of Brazil; and a sister Merita Brinson of Indianapolis, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jean Gebhardt and his twin sister Doris Gale Scott.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, Brazil, Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jimmy Dowers officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Terre Haute.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
