ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam volleyball team came up short against Crawfordsville Tuesday. The Cougars lost 25-15, 25-9 and 25-19.

Carlye McGaughey recorded eight digs and four kills, while Paxton Stephenson added seven digs and one stuff block. Leeanne Davis had 10 digs, with Megan Robinson adding three stuff blocks and Megan Gray with five assists.

"We are trying some things differently," NPHS head coach Jill Schreiber said. "We are doing some new sets and hitting drills in practice."

Schreiber commented how her team has a tendency of setting the ball too high, giving the defense the time to set itself.

She also acknowledged the team has the ability it needs to be successful, but lack other intangibles it needs to add numbers in the win column.

"The girls have the talent, we just lack the confidence, pride and heart it takes to win," Schreiber said.

North Putnam will face Cascade on the road today at 5:30 p.m.
