James Carl 'Twiggy' Twigg

James Carl "Twigger" Twigg, 69, Greencastle, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at his residence.

He was born March 13, 1940 in Putnam County to Durwood G. and Elsie E. Porter Twigg.

Mr. Twigg was a 1959 graduate of Greencastle High School and was an active member of the class of 1959 reunion planning committee.

He married Wanda Burnside Twigg on Nov. 6, 1959 and she survives.

He retired from IBM with 27 years of service; was a member of the Quarter Century Club at IBM and retired from Putnam County Hospital with 14 years of service. He was a member of the Jerry Hecko Foreign Auto Coffee Club and the Double Decker late breakfast and coffee club.

He had a deep interest in both World War II history and movies.

Surviving are his wife Wanda; children Dana Bumgardner and husband Roy of Greencastle and Eric Twigg and wife Tara of Indianapolis; two sisters, Marsha Hartman and husband Rufus of Greencastle and Connie Pierce of Greencastle; and three grandchildren Kayla Bumgardner, Karly Bumgardner and Jackson Twigg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Joey Twigg.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Clinton Falls Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at funeral home.
