Eagles compete in tri-meet

CLAYTON -- The South Putnam High School cross country teams split Wednesday night with Cascade and Speedway.

The boys placed third with 63 points while Speedway finished second with 40 points while Cascade wont he meet with 24 points.

Jorge Cavell was the top finisher for the Eagles, placing 10th with a time of 19:22 with Tanner Barr coming in 11th with a time of 19:46 and Dylan Hayes finishing 13th in 19:46. Shea Arnold was the next Eagle to cross the finish line, placing 14th with a time of 19:49 and Andrew Kelly rounded out South Putnam's scoring with a 16th place finish with a time of 19:53.

The girls won their meet with 25 points with Speedway coming in second with 30, while Cascade fielded an incomplete team.

Kaelynn Cox led the Eagles with a fourth place finish with a time of 24:00 , while Amanda Land finished fifth with a time of 24:36. Lyndsie Beasley finished seventh for the Eagles, completing the course in 25:44 while Yuyama came in eighth with a 26:48. Brittany Birt rounded out the Eagles scoring with a ninth place finish with a time of 27:04.

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Putnam County meet at 4:30 p.m.
