GHS falls in three
CLAYTON -- The Greencastle High School volleyball team dropped a three set match, 25-14, 25-18, 25-14, to Cascade Wednesday night.
"This was a pretty good night for us," GHS coach Trish Lowe said. "We did a good job of serving the ball in play. We only missed two serves for the entire night, which is something that we have been working on each game."
Chelsea Samuels led the Tiger Cubs defensively with 27 digs and eight blocks, three of which were stuffs while Kayla Nobles and Jordyn Lewis chipped in 21 digs each.
Samuels also led the team offensively with six kills, while Nobles and Jessie Bennett had two kills each. Nobles led the team in serving, going 12-for-12 with six service points and one ace.
"This might have been the best defensive team we have played this season and we played with them," Lowe said.
Greencastle is back in action today when they host South Putnam at 6 p.m. in the "Attack for the Cure" match.
