Jack Binetti Jr.

Friday, October 16, 2009

Jack Binetti Jr., beloved husband of Shelley Binetti (nee Shaw), lost his battle to cancer, after fighting a good fight for almost three years, on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. He was surrounded by his devoted family as he quietly fell into a tranquil sleep.

Mr. Binetti permanently moved to Greencastle in June 2009 to enjoy his retirement. Unfortunately, that lifelong desire was short-lived. He was an extremely caring and loving husband to Shelley, his wife of 20 years. He was also a dutiful and caring son to his mother Ellen Binetti, who resides in Vernon Hills, Ill.

He is also survived by his sister Carol Ann Ree (nee Binetti), wife of Larry Ree; niece Nancy Stolbom, her husband Jeff and their children, Jamey and Sydney, who reside in Libertyville, Ill. In addition, he is survived by his in-laws, Bud and Joann Shaw of Greencastle; sister-in-law Mary Jane Heagy (nee Shaw), along with her three sons, Joshua, Max and Wesley Heagy; sister-in-law Julie Mitchell (nee Shaw), her husband Mike and their two sons, Andrew and Jared, of Danville; his brother-in-law Daniel Shaw of New York, N.Y.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

He will be missed by all.

Mr. Binetti was a lifelong member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Greencastle, where he served as a caring and compassionate elder to the congregation and its members. He was always happy and loved to have fun whenever and wherever he could. He always made you laugh either with him or at him. He loved to laugh and tell funny jokes which, when even repeated time and again, were still very funny.

We love you, Jack, very much.

There will be a memorial service on Sunday at 3 p.m., held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 104 N. 10th St.
