Putnam County Jail

Susan Ewing, 52, Greencastle, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 6:57 p.m. Friday for public intoxication, resisting law enforcement and violation of probation.

Steven Hornback, 35, Fillmore, was booked at 12:37 p.m. Saturday for failure to appear and a Jackson County warrant.

Donald Dyer, 20, Wildwood, Mo., was booked at 2:34 p.m. Saturday for public intoxication.

Regan Tolley, 22, Covington, was booked at 3:13 p.m. Saturday for public intoxication.

Anne Figliulo, 19, Lake Forest, Ill., was booked at 2:14 a.m. Sunday for possession of alcohol as a minor and public intoxication.

Savannah Frey, 19, W. Lafayette, was booked at 3:53 a.m. Sunday for possession of a controlled substance, possession of alcohol as a minor and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

William Johanson, 44, Greencastle, was booked at 6:26 p.m. Sunday for domestic battery, public intoxication, destruction of state or county property, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

Jennifer Stayte, 33, Plainfield, was booked at 8:41 a.m. Monday for petition to revoke probation.

Marvin Bryson, 40, Indianapolis, was booked at 11:44 a.m. Tuesday for violation of home detention.

Curtis Cash, 40, Bainbridge, was booked at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday for attempted burglary and petition to revoke bond.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Gary Passwater, Roachdale, was traveling on SR 236E near Raccoon at 2:20 p.m. Saturday on his motorcycle and as he attempted to pass two grain trucks, one caused him to lose control when it drifted to the left side of the road. Passwater was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Brett Higgins, Coatesville, was traveling on CR 250E near Bainbridge at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday when his vehicle struck a deer.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Nellie Miller of Rockville was traveling on US 36W at 7:30 a.m. Saturday when her vehicle struck a deer.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Jerry Mosher of Greencastle was traveling west on CR 500N near Morton at 4:52 a.m. Saturday, when he attempted to miss a deer causing him to lose control of the vehicle, strike a fence and a dirt embankment.

VanBibber Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to scene due to a rupture in the vehicle's gas tank causing gas to spill out. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Cynthia Ford of Coatesville was traveling east on CR 550N near Groveland at 1:44 a.m. Saturday when his vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle was towed from the scene. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Larry Eastham of Cloverdale was traveling northeast on US 40 at 5:55 a.m. Friday when his vehicle struck a deer. His vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 1101 S. Fillmore Road at 3:38 p.m. Thursday for a medical assist with Operation Life. They were back in service at 4:06 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to E. Jacob Street and N. College Avenue at 12:42 p.m. Friday for a two-vehicle accident, which resulted in one person being transported to Putnam County Hospital. They were back in service at 12:59 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Humbert Hall, 208 E. Olive St., at 7:42 p.m. Friday for an active alarm. They were disregarded en route and were back in service at 7:47 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 304 S. Indiana St. at 2:52 a.m. Saturday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 2:53 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 1 Taylor Place at 3:26 a.m. Sunday for an active alarm, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 3:29 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 104 W. Hannah St. at 5:08 a.m. Sunday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 5:11 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 109 S. Indiana St. at 12:37 p.m. Sunday, but were disregarded en route. They were back in service at 12:39 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 106 S. Spring St. at 3:25 p.m. Sunday but were disregarded en route. They were back in service at 3:28 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 800 S. College Ave. at 9:14 p.m. Sunday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 9:18 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Putnam County Courthouse, 1 W. Washington St., at 10:41 a.m. Monday for an investigation due to the smell of gas in the building. It was not evacuated and was monitored. They were back in service at 11:14 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to Humbert Hall, 208 E. Olive St., at 11:27 a.m. Monday for an alarm due to an iron being left turned on. They were back in service at 11:41 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 594 S. CR 100E at 8:33 p.m. Monday for a motor vehicle accident. Vehicle swerved to miss a deer, but landed in the pond near the Nazarene Church. They were back in service at 10:46 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to E. Franklin Street and N. College Avenue at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday for general clean up after a motor vehicle accident. They were back in service at 11:46 a.m.

Greencastle Police Department

David S. Black, 21, Coatesville, was traveling east on Washington Street at 8:17 a.m. Tuesday when he struck a vehicle driven by Betty Scaggs, 69, Brazil, traveling north on Indiana Street.

Both drivers advised they had the green light at the time of the crash. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Jeffrey Cox, 37, Greencastle, was traveling south on Indianapolis Road pulling into the parking lot of Taco Bell when a vehicle driven by Douglas Sarauer, 22, Greencastle, was traveling north out of the parking lot and the two vehicles collided head on. Neither driver saw each other.

There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Joan Knapp, 49, Roachdale, was stopped for traffic in the westbound lane on SR 240 at 5:24 p.m. Nov. 11 when a vehicle driven by Michelle Carmichael, 41, Fillmore, struck the back of her vehicle.

Carmichael stated the glare from the sun prevented her from seeing Knapp's vehicle in time to avoid a collision.

Debbi Davis, 45, Greencastle, was backing out a parking space on the south side of the alley at 207 N. Indiana St. at 11:13 a.m. Friday, when her vehicle struck the back of a vehicle owned by Tina Blake of Roachdale.

Sharon McCrocklin, 66, Cloverdale, was traveling south on College Avenue at 12:41 p.m. Friday when a vehicle driven by William Wallace, 48, Reelsville, made a turn onto Jacob Street and collided with her vehicle.

Michael Phillips, 24, Greencastle, was traveling south on Roundbarn Road at 8:19 p.m. Monday when he swerved to avoid a deer standing in the road and landed his vehicle in a body of water.

The following tickets were issued by the Greencastle Police Department:

Jeffrey Gospill, 37, Fishers, was stopped on Jackson and Washington streets at 11:50 a.m. Nov. 10 and cited for an unsafe lane movement.

Nathan Hanely, 23, Greencastle, was stopped on Fillmore Road at 6:52 p.m. Saturday and cited for speeding.

David Thompson, 23, Greencastle, was stopped at Washington and Durham streets at 8:59 p.m. Sunday and cited for expired registration.
