Andrew L. Shepherd

Andrew L. Shepherd, 14, of Bainbridge died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born March 12, 1995 in Danville, the son of Michael and Paula Fish Shepherd.

Andrew was an eighth grade student at North Putnam Middle School, where he played football. He also played basketball in the Special Olympics.

He is survived by his parents; his sister, Holly Shepherd; brothers Jerry and Mason Shepherd; half brother Joey Scott; grandparents, Jerry and Patty Fish, Gloria and Chris Shaw and Sarah and Lewis Phipps; aunts, Angela Strange, Amber Price, Tammy Fish, Amanda Fish, Lyndsey Miles, Stephanie White and Kyrie Shaw; uncles Danny Shaw, Geoff Underwood, Josh Johns and Mark Poore; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bill and Dorothy Schmitt and John and Suzie Fish; and an uncle, Shawn White.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle, with burial in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund in memory of Andrew Shepherd has been established at the Hendricks County Bank. Donations can be made at any branch.
