Putnam Ants 4-H Club judging team won the honor of judging at the state competition by placing first in the Area V 4-H Entomology Career Development Event in November.

Career Development events are designed to encourage youth to learn all they can about a specific topic.

Youth learn to identify insect specimens and must also complete a quiz on the topic. Youth practice the skills of observation, analysis and communication -- skills they will use their entire lives.

Youth also enjoy the fun, teamwork, and competition of Career Development Judging Events. There are more than a dozen different competitions where 4-H'ders may participate in career development events.
