Arthur Ray Bridgewaters

Arthur Ray Bridgewaters, 53, of Cloverdale died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at Regional Hospital following complications from a stroke.

He was born in Brazil on Nov. 24, 1956 to Raymond and Ethel (Frazier) Bridgewaters.

Art graduated from Brazil High School. Following high school, he worked at the Terre Haute Airport as well as at Lear Corporation, Blue Lightening Express, and Townsend Tree Service.

He married Thalnia Galloway April 7, 1984.

Art enjoyed spending time with his family and many pets.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond Bridgewaters Jr. and Vernon Bridgewater; nephews Johnny Osborn and Kenny Dodson Jr.; and brother-in-law Kenny Dodson Sr.

Survivors include his wife Thalnia; two children, Shawn Galloway and Samantha Bridgewaters; sisters Louise Dodson and Merrilen Cooprider; brother Bob Bridgewaters; stepbrother Tommy Tedder; stepsister Karen Nischan; as well as several extended family members.

Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel Monday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. until time of services.

At Art's request cremation services will be provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
