Putnam County Jail

A Cloverdale man was booked into the Putnam County Jail Tuesday on a felony charge. Twenty-eight-year-old Richard Branam was booked at 7:06 p.m. for possession of methamphetamine.

There have been three accidents reported by the sheriff's department since the early-week snowfall.

Fredric C. Reich of Center Point was traveling south on CR 625W near Reelsville at 7:55 a.m. Monday, when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions and rolled into a drainage ditch. His vehicle came to rest on its driver's side.

Reich was able to exit the vehicle. Reelsville Fire Department assisted with a fuel leak at the scene. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

On Tuesday, Christopher S. Pridemore of Terre Haute was traveling east on US 40 at 9:43 a.m., following a semi-tractor trailer. The semi applied its breaks and Pridemore was unable to stop his vehicle.

Due to icy road conditions, he lost control of his vehicle, slid into the median and struck an embankment and highway sign. Pridemore and four passengers were uninjured in the crash.

His vehicle was not towed from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Shane C. Wilks of Greencastle was traveling west on CR 300S near Limedale at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of his vehicle on a hill due to icy road conditions. He was unable to regain control and his vehicle struck a guardrail.

Wilks and a passenger were uninjured in the crash. Seniour's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle from the scene. There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to CR 225E and CR 25N at 8:22 a.m. Wednesday for a motor vehicle accident. They were back in service at 8:50 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 720 J Mar Drive at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday for a detector activation due to construction. They were back in service at 11:25 a.m.
