CMS students receive skiing lessons, have fun

CLOVERDALE -- Kathy Moore, the Cloverdale Middle School physical education and health teacher, recently took a group of seventh and eighth grade students on a ski trip to Paoli Peaks.

She shared pictures of the trip with board members Monday during the school board meeting.

"(Paoli Peaks) said it was the best group of kids they had in years," reported Moore. "They were very courteous."

In other news:

* The following middle school art students were selected to have their artwork on display at the Putnam County Museum from Feb. 27 to the middle of April: Russell Rose, Bridget Jackson, Kaylee Sutherlin, Erin Beatty, Kiersten Mundy, Mystic Minnick, Rylie Vauters, Kellee Cross, Anthony Stone, Rachael Mboga, Lillian Boyd, Ambrie Kidder and Taylor Mescall.

* Board members voted to approve the following personnel changes:

Coaching -- Emily Parks resigned as junior varsity volleyball coach; Ken Williams will be the girls varsity golf coach and Moore has returned as the varsity volleyball coach.

Board members welcomed Moore back.

"I am glad to be back," Moore said about returning as volleyball coach.

Aaron Howard will be the seventh and eighth grade head baseball coach and James Dehoney will be the seventh and eighth grade assistant volunteer baseball coach.

Resignations -- Tom Helton as high school custodian.
