Storm spotter weather training coming soon
GREENCASTLE -- What is Indiana's severe weather season going to be like this year?
"It's difficult to determine," said Chris Edwards, severe weather specialist for Putnam County Emergency Management. "What's important is that everyone is prepared and responds whenever severe weather occurs."
The National Weather Service, working with the Putnam County Emergency Management, will conduct severe storm spotter training from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 25 at the County Courthouse Annex at 209 W. Liberty St., Greencastle.
National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Ryan will descrive cloud and wind patterns associated with severe weather, how to interpret weather radar data and how to remain safe during severe weather. The training session is free and open to the public.
