Arthur C. Cash, 87, Cloverdale, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at the Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1922 in Coatesville and was the son of the late Clayton and Stella Grace Lisby Cash.

He married Lorene Imogene Phillips on Oct. 14, 1944 and she survives. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past October.

Also surviving are his sons, Alan B. Cash and wife Olivia, Ft. Worth, Texas, Kenneth C. Cash and wife Karen, Cloverdale; a sister Carol Macy, Beavercreek, Ohio; a brother Alva Cash and wife Martha of Hooper, Neb.; four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, sister-in-law Cotella Phillips, Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Greencastle High School, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and drove his own school bus for the Cloverdale Community Schools for three generations of students.

His passion was farming and working in his workshop. He was a member of the Amity Missionary Baptist Church for more than 50 years. The last several years, he attended the First Baptist Church in Greencastle. He was a member of the Hurst-Collins Post No. 281, American Legion in Cloverdale and had served as a board member for the Cloverdale Community School Holding Corporation.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with the Rev. John Nees officiating.

Visitations will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cloverdale Cemetery.
