To the Editor:

The American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter, Putnam County Unit, would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all that made this year's chili supper our largest to date.

Money raised will be used to assist families that have been affected by home fires right here in Putnam County.

Thanks to our signature sponsors The Waters for preparing and providing the chili and cornbread, Delta Theta Tau sorority for providing and preparing the desserts, the Putnam Inn for providing the drinks and Cabot of Vermont for providing cheese. A special thanks to DJ Mike Welsh of Sounds Unlimited for providing our entertainment for the evening, and to the National Guard for the use of their building and kitchen.

A big thanks to our participating restaurants which sold Chili during the preceding week and donated the profits to the Red Cross. They included Bert & Betty's Kitchen, Chief's, Treasures on the Square, Mama Nunz and Almost Home.

Our silent auction was again very successful thanks to the donated items from Jameson Coffee, Judy Miller Embroidery, Humphrey's Outdoor Power, Indianapolis Indians, Indiana Pacers, Conner Prairie, Purdue Sports, Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, Indiana State Museum, Deer Creek Golf Club, Heartland Crossing Golf Course, Chateau Thomas Winery, Indianapolis State Museum, Craftmakers 2, Comfort Inn & Suites Hotels, First National Bank, Cabot of Vermont, Curves of Greencastle, Wabash Capital, Conner Prairie, 4:13 Creations, Usborne Books & More, The Fluttering Duck, The Walden Inn, Karen's Kreations, Snap Fitness Center, Indianapolis Ice, Crowne Plaza Hotels, Teachers Credit Union, Wood Builders Inc., Mona Lisa Spa & Salon, Indianapolis Childrens Museum and Wood & Associates.

Also thanks to Mayor Sue Murray, Boy Scout Troop #99, Olivia Humphreys, Greencastle Fire Department, United Way, Greencastle Police Department, Operation Life and the Putnam County Sheriff's Department for their participation in this event, and to the Banner Graphic and WREB for their awesome event coverage.

Of course, no event is successful without those that attend in support of our worthwhile cause. To you we express not only our thanks for attending but our thanks for supporting the mission of The American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter.
