GREENCASTLE -- Beginning April 1, the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry will be located at 620 Tennessee Street. According to pantry board members, the new location will have more space and better parking available.

"We have been located in the Senior Center building for many years and have enjoyed being there. However, our new location will have several advantages for both the volunteers who help in the pantry as well as our patrons," said board member Frances Washburne.

The old location will in the Senior Center will remain open through March 30. They will be closed on March 31 and open in the new location on April 1.

The hours will remain the same. They will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon. They are closed on holidays and when there is inclement weather and the Greencastle schools are closed.

Food contributions may be made when the pantry is open. If this is not a convenient time to drop off items, call Judy Miller at 653-1356, Frances Washburne at 721-2012 or the pantry at 301-4431.

Monetary contributions can be dropped at the pantry in the mornings or mailed to P.O. Box 423, Greencastle.

"We appreciate all the help, understanding and donations from everyone from the past and into the future," said Washburne.
