Gregory Lee Coffman of Avon and formerly of Greencastle passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010.

Greg was born April 30, 1961 in Putnam County to Warren Rex and Audrey Lee (Sutherlin) Coffman. Greg graduated from Greencastle High School and the University of Wisconsin.

He had worked for Happico for several years and was presently teaching special needs children at Brownsburg High School.

He loved his teaching job and enjoyed reading, rock climbing, the outdoors and activities with his sons.

Greg was a member of Hanna Street Baptist Church in Greencastle and attended Plainfield Christian Church where he played trombone in the church orchestra.

He married Susan Wooden, July 23, 1988 and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Jordan Lee and Ian Patrick Coffman; his mother; a brother, Joseph Coffman and his wife Heather of Carlisle; his father-in-law, Houghston Wooden of Indianapolis; and his mother-in-law, Judith Beery of Montana. Five nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffrey; and his grandparents, Wayne and Leona Sutherlin and Charles and Alda Coffman.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy L. Julian Drive, Greencastle, with the Rev. Patrick Smith Officiating.

Burial will be in the Little Walnut Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
