Putnam County Jail

Deanna D. Rice, 31, Indianapolis, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday for public intoxication.

Christopher D. Hunter, 19, Coatesville, was booked at 2:46 a.m.

Thursday for possessing alcohol as a minor and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Larry Benford, 58, Terre Haute, was booked at 11:18 a.m. Thursday for petition to revoke bond.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

A Greencastle teen crashes his vehicle while texting on his cell phone.

Cody J. Branson was traveling east on SR 240 at 6:15 a.m. Monday, when his vehicle left the road and struck a guardrail.

The force of the impact caused both of the vehicle's airbags to deploy.

No injuries were reported. Jerry's Wrecker Service towed the vehicle. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to Dollar Tree, 1746 Indianapolis Road, at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday for a motor vehicle accident. They were back in service at 5:19 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to Greencastle Middle School at 8:56 a.m. Thursday for a smoke scare. They were back in service at 9:05 a.m.

Crews were dispatched to 852 Indianapolis Road at 2:27 p.m. Thursday for a motor vehicle accident. They were disregarded en route and back in service at 2:34 p.m.
