Evelyn Morris Voege, 81, Huntley, Ill., and formerly of Greencastle, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010.

She was born July 10, 1928 in Scottsville, Ky., the daughter of James H. and Toy Morris.

After school, Mrs. Voege moved to Indianapolis and married Norman Voege on May 17, 1952. She and Norman moved to Greencastle and then to Wheaton, Ill. to raise her children. After retirement, Evelyn and Norman became snowbirds in Brownsville, Texas.

Norman preceded Evelyn in death Jan. 20, 1990 and she moved to Illinois to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Scottsville, Ky. and enjoyed her family, yard, garden and flowers, cooking for everyone (cookies for her grandchildren), helping the elderly, traveling and yard sales.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Richard Voege and wife Karlyn of Susquehanna, Pa.; daughter, Dinah Black and husband David of St. Charles, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Marcia Voege of Greencastle; grandchildren, Kimberlee, Jeremy, Cory, Skyler and Samantha Voege, Phillip, Meghan and Jennifer Black; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Elizabeth, Jayden and Jeremiah; brother-in-law, Robert Voege and wife Helen; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Voege; brothers, Jack, Noah, Cordell, Bill, Jessie, Carlene and half brother Floyd; sisters, Lucille, Marie, Annie; and half sisters, Gracie and Mamie.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with burial in the Cloverdale Cemetery.

Friends may visit Sunday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
