Parent Conference

Rescare hosted its semi-annual Continued Parent Learning Series on April 10. Parents of Rescare students attend, as well as the new addition of Foster parents in the region. Keynote speaker was Siloan Green, who spoke about post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The author of "Fly with Angels, Green suffers from PTSD after surviving a plane crash while in the military. Also speaking at the event were certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor John Mace, who spoke about recognizing warning signs of addiction, and Joni Irwin from the Jason Foundation, who spoke about teen suicide awareness and prevention. Other topics included safety planning and thinking errors.
