People need to clean up after dogs

To the Editor:

As one who walks daily around Greencastle with my dog, I am astounded how few people clean up after their dog.

I need to keep my focus on the sidewalks and grass to avoid the mess left by careless and inconsiderate people.

It takes a very brief time to collect dog feces with a plastic bag and dispose of it in the trash at home. If left it draws insects, pollutes the environment, and annoys those who are conscientious about picking up after their pet.

Please be thoughtful of your fellow citizens.
