GREENCASTLE -- Additional charges have been filed against two men already in jail for their alleged roles in an April 5 incident in which shots were fired at a Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputy.

Keven Dale Crowe, and Michael Scott Pryor, both 18, have now been charged with Class B felony burglary and Class D felony. On April 8, Pryor and Crowe were charged with Class C felony assisting a criminal and Class D felonies receiving stolen property and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

The pair, along with co-defendants Justin Hargrove and Lacey Couch, have been in jail since April 7. All four are accused of participating in an incident in which shots were fired from a vehicle traveling the roadways of Greencastle.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department Deputy Michael Biggs attempted to stop the vehicle, and Hargrove allegedly fired a rifle at Biggs and escaped on foot.

A daylong manhunt ensued, and Crowe, Couch, Pryor and Hargrove were all taken into custody on April 7. They are all still incarcerated, scheduled for pretrial conferences on May 27.

Pryor

The new charges against Crowe and Pryor stem from allegations that the guns used in the April 5 incident were stolen from a residence in Coatesville by Crowe and Pryor.

According to court documents, two shotguns, two rifles, a revolver, a pistol and a significant amount of ammunition were stolen from the residence on April 4.

The burglary victim identified Crowe and Pryor as possible suspects.

"The victim reported that Keven Crowe had previously lived in his home and was familiar with the location of the weapons as well as the storage location of the gun vault keys, which were apparently located and used to enter the gun vault," a probable cause affidavit said.

The affidavit went on to say that Pryor admitted that he and Crowe stole the guns and ammunition, and that his description of the weapons was consistent with the description of the weapons the victim had reported stolen.

Pretrial conferences for Crowe and Pryor on the burglary and theft charges have been set for May 27.
