Naomi Victoria (Williams) Rector, 90, Covington, died on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family.

Naomi was born on Oct. 28, 1919, in Asheville, NC.

She was the daughter of Charles Bernard and Maude Blanch (Ramsey) Williams. She was a graduate of Venable High School. She married Ernest V. Rector on May 15, 1942 in South Carolina. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1984. They had moved from Asheville, N.C. to Covington in 1956 when Ernie went to work at Olin Matheson.

Naomi was a member of the Covington United Methodist Church and had attended Phanuel Lutheran Church in Wallace. She loved knitting, ceramics, traveling, dolls and most of all Bingo. She loved life and when asked how she was feeling. . . it was always, "I am fine." She enjoyed people and never met a stranger.

She and her husband raised three daughters, Pat Hoopengarner (Paul) of Cloverdale, Pamela Bentley (Stanley) of St. Cloud, Fla., and Penny Carrell (John) of Veedersburg.

Also surviving are, grandchildren, Carol Smith (Ronnie) of Fillmore, Jane Best (Robbie) of Waveland, Michelle Richards (Brian) of Orlando, Fla., Laura Perron of Marshall, Ill., John Carrell (Heather) of Darlington and Erin Carrell (Emerson Davis) of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Zachary Carrell, Baily Carrell, Dakota Carrell Davis, Blaza Perron, Colin Perron, and Carleigh Richards; and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Charlotte White, Aileen Weesner, and Edna Ingle, and one nephew, Edward Weesner.

Visitation will be at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg on Monday from 2 p.m. until service time at 4 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington.
