Rain forces LPS to postpone Billy Marvel Classic

PUTNAMVILLE -- Despite efforts to prepare the Lincoln Park Speedway surface for Saturday night's "Billy Marvel Classic," rain and a forecast for additional rain forced postponement of the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint race.

Track and USAC officials are discussing a replacement date for the race at the 5/16-mile dirt oval and that date will be announced when firm.

The next race on the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint schedule is the May 7 "Larry Rice Classic" at the Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway.
