GREENCASTLE -- No one was injured Saturday afternoon when a truck crashed into the front of the Putnam County Senior Center.

An 88-year-old woman was sitting in her vehicle eating a sandwich when she realized her vehicle was lunging forward.

Sgt. Chris Jones of the Greencastle Police Department said it appeared the woman, whose name was unavailable at press time, tried to apply the brake pedal, but instead hit the accelerator.

The driver was uninjured and no one was in the Senior Center at the time.

Damage to the truck was estimated between $1,000 and $2,000. No damage estimate has yet been determined for the structure.
