Central Elementary students spent a day in the world of science. As a class assignment, DePauw University students spent Thursday at Central conducting science experiments with fifth and sixth grade classes. The DePauw class put together six different science experiments for Chemistry 130 taught by instructors Jon Stack and Hilary Eppley. It was part of a science outreach program through which science takes shape through experiments. About 70 volunteers spent the day Thursday with kindergarten through fourth grade classes conducting science experiments about magnets, ways to block the sun, chemical reactions and various aspects of science. Dave Roberts, Sharon Crary and Central Elementary instructional assistant Beth Arnold organized the initiative.
