The Cloverdale golf team placed second behind Terre Haute South and in front of White River Valley Wednesday. The Braves won with score of 141, the Clovers were second with 167 and WRV was third with 225.

Chris Arnold and Gary Williams led the Clovers with rounds of 39, while Tyler Deakin shot a 42 and Sam Jordan a 47. Colte Tomlinson shot a 51 and Ryan Book carded a 54.

"Chris was not as sharp as he has been, but still had a good score, and Gary had his season low," CHS head coach Doug Wokoun said. "Tyler has had some knee problems, but also shot a season low. Our other players were up and down, with some good holes, but not the consistency we were looking for."

Taylor Goss and Corey Gertz led Terre Haute South with rounds of 32 and 33, respectively.

The Clovers bounced back from a poor performance Tuesday at Deer Creek against Cascade. Arnold earned medalist honors with a 76, but Wokoun acknowledged the rest of the team struggled.

"There are lots of things that we could cite as mitigating circumstances, but the bottom line was that Cascade was ready to play and we clearly weren't. So this match, even though THS was outstanding, was a good response from us and hopefully will put us on the right track for the sectional next Monday," Wokoun said.
