For the Kids
The Putnam County Prosecutor's Office is a sponsor for this year's Summer Program of Awareness and Recreation for Kids (S.P.A.R.K.), an initiative overseen by the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department. All activities take place at Robe-Ann Park. The funds donated to the program by the Prosecutor's Office came from the Pre-Trial Diversion Program, through which fees are paid for diversion on traffic and other minor offenses. The program was created by the Indiana Legislature for all counties in the state of Indiana. Putnam County Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter stopped by the park Friday to help hand out t-shirts for the 171 children participating in S.P.A.R.K. Pictured with Bookwalter is 6-year-old Andrew Thede of Greencastle.
