James H. Lukenbill

James H. Lukenbill, 79, of Bainbridge passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Carmel.

Born May 17, 1931 in Brick Chapel, he was the son of John William and Bernice O'Hair Lukenbill. He married Patricia LaFollette Lukenbill on Nov. 27, 1954 and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2001.

Mr. Lukenbill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of V.F.W. Post No. 1550.

He had been a machinist at Link Belt (FMC) in Indianapolis, retiring in 1994. He had previously worked at the railroad; had worked on a dairy farm.

Survivors include his sons, William E. Lukenbill and wife Toni of Greencastle, Henry E. Lukenbill and wife Karen Sue of Bainbridge and Kenneth L. Lukenbill and companion Jae Molin of Crawfordsville; daughters Nadine S. Collins and fiancé Denny Woodall of Coatesville and Tammy L. Watson and husband John of Bainbridge; sisters Helen Staggs, Lula Proctor and Jessie Detro and husband Dan; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, father-in-law Clarence LaFollette, sisters Betty Eiteljorge and Lola Robinson; and grandson Jeffrey Lee Woodall.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Allman officiating. Burial with military rites will be at the Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
