After the Rain

Wednesday, June 16, 2010
Monday evening's severe thunderstorms gave way to a rainbow in the skies south of Greencastle.

  • I saw the lovely rainbow, but I did not find the end with the pot of gold. I'm still employed though, can't afford to leave my job without the pot of gold.

  • The rainbow is a symbol of God's promise to us to never cover the earth with water again.

"I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."

    Genesis 9:15-17 (New International Version)

  • Pssst, npgrad2008:

There is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The true reward is what comes after death; in my case, anyway.

Besides, who created the light waves, the spectrum and the ability to learn chemistry?

    All cynicism aside...

  • It's a great rainbow no matter how it was created.

Just enjoy it. Pssst, thoughtful.....don't make it sound like npgrad will not have the same "reward" because he has a different theory on rainbows. Lighten up people:)

  • npgrad2008 - I too can't wait until you get out of PC, though I'm sure you'll still find time to post to the Banner Graphic and share your opinion (and bash others).
