Greencastle Police Department

* Christopher McGuff, 18, of Greencastle was turning westbound out of Pizza Hut at Longcastle Dr. and Indianapolis Rd. in a 1994 Toyota Camry at 4:40 p.m. June 8. McGuff stated his view was obstructed by bushes in front of Pizza Hut. He thought it was clear, and pulled out across traffic.

Charlene S. Custis, 57, of Greencastle was eastbound in a 2001 Kia when she said McGuff's vehicle pulled out directly in front of her. She could not avoid the collision.

Custis was treated for a fracture or dislocation in the lower leg area. Damages are estimated between $2.501 and $5,000.

There was a three-car accident at 10:48 a.m. June 16 on Indianapolis Rd. west of Percy Julian Dr.

* Mary Cash, 80, of Greencastle was operating the front vehicle, a 2004 Lincoln. She stated she was traveling east when she was hit from behind.

Harold Goss, 59, of Greencastle was in the middle vehicle, a 2010 Toyota. Goss stated he was hit from behind and pushed into Cash's vehicle.

Monique Buis, 16, of Greencastle was operating the rear vehicle, a 2000 Saturn. She stated she looked up, saw the signal was green and that traffic was moving. She further stated Cash's vehicle "stopped for no reason" and Goss hit Cash's vehicle. Buis said she could not stop in time to avoid hitting Goss's vehicle.

Buis's vehicle was towed by Jerry's Towing. There was an estimated $5,001 to $10,000 in damages.

* Kathy W. Baumgartner, 56, of Greencastle was operating a 2003 Jeep Cherokee southbound on Bloomington St. at 10:09 p.m. June 11 when she collided with the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero of Anita Cundiff, 37, of Greencastle at the intersection of Keightly Rd.

Baumgartner stated she proceeded through the intersection of State Road 240 and Bloomington when she observed Cundiff's vehicle proceeding into her path of travel. Cundiff advised she was waiting on Keightly Rd. and observed one vehicle pass in front of her before she proceeded into Bloomington St. She said she observed Baumgartner's vehicle approaching at "25 to 30 mph" before the two vehicles collided.

Cundiff complained of pain in the chest area. Damages were estimated between $2,501 and $5,000.

* At 11:50 a.m. June 14, the 2004 Honda Accord driven by Andrew Carr, 18, of Greencastle collided with the back end of the 2000 Chevrolet S10 of Richard Arnold, 20, of Cloverdale.

Arnold advised he was stopped in traffic on Franklin St. at the Indianapolis Rd. stoplight. He said he was coasting forward when he was struck behind by Carr's vehicle. Carr said the light had turned green and traffic started moving forward. He said he looked down to adjust his stereo, and looked up and Arnold's vehicle was stopped. He advised he could not stop in time to avoid the collision.

Damages were estimated between $1,001 and $2,500.

* On June 17 at 5:52 p.m., William L. Sibbitt Jr., 47, of Coatesville, operating a 2001 Ford F150, and Danielle S. Richardson, 30, of Greencastle, operating a 1997 Chevrolet Astro, were stopped, southbound on Roundbarn Rd. at Indianapolis Rd. Joseph Collins, 75, of Greencastle, operating a 1995 Buick Park Ave., approached from the north.

Collins advised he saw Sibbitt's vehicle stopped at the light and attempted to apply his brakes. However, the pedal went to the floor with no activation of the brakes. He could not avoid a collision with Sibbitt's vehicle, which was, in turn, pushed into Richardson's vehicle.

Collins' vehicle was driven from the scene by him with no brake problems.

Damages were estimated between $1,001 and $2,500.

* At 2:57 p.m. on June 19, Jacob Junkin of Greencastle advised he had parked his 1993 Ford pick-up in the CVS lot with his children inside. He advised one of his children moved the vehicle out of gear, causing it to roll across the parking lot and into the roadway.

Jessica McMurl, 30, of Greencastle, was operating a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser northbound on Percy Julian Dr. She advised she was stopped at the stoplight when Junkin's vehicle rolled from the CVS parking lot and struck her vehicle.

Damages were estimated between $1,001 and $2,500.

* At 9:55 a.m. on July 20, Robert A. Bell Sr., 63, of Greencstle was driving a 1998 Chevrolet CK3500 westbound on Gardenside Dr. west of Hammond Dr. Bell, who appeared to be having medical problems when the officer arrived, apparently passed out, crossed the center of the street and hit a parked vehicle head-on.

The vehicle, a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan owned by Donald Wilson of Greencastle, was pushed into the yard at 822 Gardenside Dr.

Bell's vehicle was towed by Seniour's Towing. Damages were estimated between $5,001 to $10,000.

* At 8:23 p.m. on June 20, Melissa N. Hall, 22, of Greencastle and Ashley N. Meadows-Deaton, 21, of Greencastle, were both stopped at the intersection of Wood and Seminary streets.

Hall's 1999 Ford Taurus was southbound, legally stopped on Wood St. Meadows-Deaton's 2000 Mitsubishi was stopped on Seminary St., attempting a left turn onto northbound Wood St. She failed to allow enough clearing around Hall's vehicle and sideswiped the driver's side.

Damages estimated between $1,001 and $2,500.

* June 10, 3:20 a.m., Andrew J. Cyr, 19, of Greencastle, Indianapolis Rd. and 10th St., unsafe start.

* June 19, 3:30 a.m., James Franklin, 39, of Greencastle, N. Indiana St. and Shadowlawn Ave., driving while suspended with a prior.

* June 19, 9:35 a.m., Teresa D. Wallen, 33, of Stilesville, Indianapolis Rd., driving while suspended and seatbelt violation.

* June 19, 9:54 p.m., Jeffrey A. Gross, 52, of Greencastle, 800 Indianapolis Rd., failure to yield.

* June 21, 10:35 p.m., Derrick L. Ward, 31, of Greencastle, State Road 240, driving while suspended.

* June 22, 2:15 a.m., Jamychel E. Hirsch, 20, of Coatesville, Fillmore Rd. and State Road 240 East, driving while suspended.
