Donating for safety program

Friday, July 16, 2010
Hickory Creek at Sunset hosted a fish fry recently to help raise funds for the Greencastle Police Department's child safety seat program "Permanent Fitting Station." Darci Hendershot, one of three trained safety seat technicians with GPD, accepts the donation from Hickory Creek's Colleen Matthews. Present for the donation are, from left, Jennifer Evans, GPD Chief Tom Sutherlin, Hendershot, Matthews, Chris Klinger, Luanne Walker, Lisa Dodson, Carol Beaman and Michelle Aikins. The Permanent Fitting Station helps provide anyone with small children traveling in their vehicles the opportunity to have the safety seat inspected to ensure it is properly installed. Qualified parents can also receive a child safety seat at no charge.
