Marvin Bailey

Marvin Bailey Boone, 89, of Sheridan, died Aug. 14, 2010 at Sheridan Healthcare Center.

He was born June 8, 1921 in Boone County to the late Harvey and Minnie (Staton) Bailey.

Marvin was a self-employed farmer and was a member of the Terhune United Methodist Church and the Sheridan Masonic Lodge. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1953.

He married Phyllis J. (Davis) Bailey on April 5, 1947, and she preceded him in death.

He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Bailey and Clifford Bailey and sister Lillian Thompson and his parents.

He is survived by sons Jack V. (Margaret) Bailey of Sheridan and Roger D. (Becky) Bailey of Fillmore; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan with the Rev. Frank Ciampa officiating.

Burial will be at the Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
