North Putnam succumbs to Western Boone in 3

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

The North Putnam volleyball team lost to Western Boone in three sets Monday. The Cougars lost 14-25, 12-25 and 16-25.

North Putnam head coach Jill Schreiber wasn't happy with the loss, but was pleased with the way her team performed as a team.

"We played as a team," Schreiber said. "We hustled. I was really proud of their hustle. I couldn't be more proud of them for that. We need to gain confidence in ourselves. We have players that can pass, set and spike, but we just don't have that confidence to show it and do it."

Schreiber said the Cougars are focusing on teamwork, but is convinced the wins will come in due time.

"We lost, but I am proud of the girls for working together, their hustle and their performance at a team. We're really working on the team building concept," she added.

The Cougars will travel to Turkey Run Thursday at 6 p.m.
