Entomology program planned

Saturday, September 4, 2010

The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the DePauw University Entomology Club and the Greencastle School Corp., invites the public to register for "What's That Bug?"

What's the difference between insects and bugs?

What does an entomologist do?

Do you have an interest in insect study?

This program will demonstrate how to find, collect, identify, mount, label, and display insects.

Open to anyone, this program will be great help to sixth-graders, Boy and Girl Scouts and 4-H members completing insect collections.

Pre-registration is suggested so the proper amount of supplies will be available.

Registration forms are available at Greencastle City Hall, Bright Futures, Dr. John Hennette's office, The Putnam County Public Library, and the Putnam County Museum.

The workshop will take place on Sept. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Manning Field Station in DePauw's Nature Park.

Fee is $15. Space is limited to 25 participants.
