CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale women's senior flag football team defeated the Cloverdale women's junior flag football team 12-6 in the annual powderpuff homecoming game.

The gridiron was home to a defensive battle, as both teams forced turnovers and fumbles. The seniors drew first blood as Breegan Andersen returned an interception for a touchdown. The juniors then employed a hurry-up offense to answer as Brooke Gray ran a touchdown in.

In the second half, Holly McCammon was able to pull the seniors ahead for good. Gray attempted another deep run as time wound down, but was eventually pushed out of bounds.

As a consolation prize, the junior class was able to win a halftime tug-of-war competition against the seniors.
