INDIANAPOLIS -- The Tiger Cubs Boys Cross Country team continued to top its best times Saturday at Ben Davis. The boys finished 12th at the event.

"We ran through some nasty weather on a really fast course and hung in there with the best of them. This year we've been running against some major schools, and haven't let that intimidate us. Our confidence grows each week," GHS head coach Craig Callahan said.

Tyler Hudson, who posted a personal best time, finished first for the Greencastle boys with a time of 17:01. Callahan said he thought Hudson broke the 17-minute mark and has no doubt his runners will achieve the time in the future.

Ryan Stevens also had a personal best time with a 17:24, with Nathan Eubank posting a 17:32. Hunter Mitchell, who was back following an injury, stepped up and ran a 17:57. Eubank and Mitchell's times were personal bests as well.

"I was more than happy to have my top four finish under 18 minutes. Hunter has been fighting a hip injury all year and fought through some pain with an incredible time. Running hurt, he ran under 18 minutes. To me that's proof of how much heart my team has," Callahan said.

Erik Norlin ran an 18:46, a personal best, and Paul Bryan finished with a 19:20. Rounding out the varsity personal best performances on the day, Matthew White finished with a 20:14.

"We knew coming into the race we wouldn't place really high, but weren't going to let that stop us from beating our best times," Callahan said. "We were really fast at Ben Davis. The guys ran their hearts out. I couldn't be happier with our results.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be beating our best times like we have been," he continued. "Literally every single weekend, not matter the terrain, weather, or competition we have showed up and beat our previous best times. That kind of progression has become an attitude with my guys. Their motivation and dedication to improvement is second to none."

In junior varsity action, Seth Turner ran 21:34, Kade Fauber 23:05 and Josh Mitchell a 24:43. All times were personal bests for the runners.
