GREENCASTLE -- A crash on Indianapolis Road sent one to Putnam County Hospital after a driver traveling westbound collided with oncoming traffic Monday afternoon.

The car, owned and driven by Patricia A. Jenkins of Greencastle, was traveling westbound when it collided with an eastbound Dodge pickup driven by Susan Wainman after crossing over the road line at around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Ed Wilson with the Greencastle Police Department said Jenkins blacked out just prior to the crash, and no one was cited for the incident.

Jenkins suffered minor facial injuries and bleeding due to airbag deployment and seatbelt injuries. Operation Life sent her to Putnam County Hospital for treatment Monday afternoon.

Both Wainman and truck passenger Abigail Wainman suffered minor seatbelt injuries but refused medical treatment, Wilson said.

"I'm glad everyone's OK, that's the thing," he said.

Representatives from Greencastle Police and Fire departments, Putnam County Operation Life and an off-duty Indiana State Trooper were on the scene.

Approximate cost of repairs to the truck was $3,000; estimated cost of repairs to the car was $1,000. Seniour's and Jerry's Towing towed the vehicles on-site.
