GREENCASTLE -- The Greencastle boys' soccer team rolled to its fifth consecutive shutout victory Saturday, defeating Sullivan 10-0 at Dee Monnett Field.

The Golden Arrows held their own early in the match until Greencastle senior Cody Watson connected on a bending corner kick and scored directly at the 32-minute mark to put the Tiger Cubs ahead.

Midway through the opening half Liam Beard, the Golden Arrows' leading scorer, was sent off with a red card for striking a Tiger Cub player. Sullivan was forced to play a man short for the remainder of the contest.

Sonney Basham scored at 13:45 to put the Tiger Cubs ahead 2-0 on an assist from Jon Good. Despite being a man up, the Tiger Cubs could not capitalize on several good chances, and the score remained at 2-0 at the break.

It didn't take long in the second half for the hosts to get things going as Evan Smith scored within the first four minutes of the half to extend the lead to 3-0.

Sullivan never really threatened to score for the remainder of the contest and the Tiger Cubs dominated play with seven different players scoring goals in the half.

"We felt that we were the better team coming into the match," head coach Dave Lilly said. "With Sullivan playing down a man, it was really no contest, and it gave us the opportunity to move some guys around and get the younger guys some playing time as well."

In addition to Smith's goal, Josh Bonebrake, Cody Watson, Spencer Moore, Cameron Cash and Nate Tharp each contributed a goal. Basham scored twice in the second half to round out his hat trick. Basham now has 15 goals scored on the season to lead the Tiger Cubs in scoring, while Moore and Brandon Query each have netted 12 goals in as many games. The Tiger Cubs improve their season record to 11-1 and will travel to Edgewood on Tuesday to take on the Mustangs at 5 p.m.
