Vendor spaces now available for festival

The Friends of the Park organization is currently renting out 10-foot by 10-foot booth spaces for the Covered Bridge Festival, which will run from Oct. 8-17.

So far, they have 60 booths reserved and room for 120 more spaces.

The contract for the booth space can be found on their Web site, friendsoftheparkrussellville.org.

Booth fee for the entire festival is $150, and electricity is available on a first come, first served basis for $25.

There is a higher charge for food vendors, but electricity is included in their fee.

Non-profit groups can set up for free, but need to provide a copy of their 501(c) (3) determination letter along with the application.

Non-profit groups still need to pay for electricity if needed.

Also this year at the Covered Bridge Festival, the Friends of the Park is hosting their first-ever Cute Baby Contest.

There will be four categories, and a gift card will be awarded to one winner per category. The winner will be determined by the amount of money put in cups as votes.

The teenagers from the Fun in the Sun summer programs came up with this idea as a way to raise money for the group to keep programs going all year long.

The Friends of the Park would like to see at least 10 contestants in each age group.

The pictures will be on display for 10 days in a scrapbook. Pictures should be no larger than a 4x6, and can be in color or black and white.

The child's name and age needs to be on the back of the photo, along with parents' or grandparents' name, address, and phone number.

The pictures can be sent to Cute Baby Picture Contest, care of FotP Festival, PO Box 162 Russellville, IN 46175.

The pictures must be received by Sept. 30. The child does not need to live in Putnam County, but the parents or grandparents do.

Questions for either vendors or those interested in the Cute Baby Contest can e-mail info@friendsoftheparkrussellville.org or can call 435-2813 or (317) 410-2115.

  • Covered Bridge Festival is a registered trademark of Parke County Indiana. Another name for your festival would be better to use since this is a spin off of the original festival and you have chosen the same dates as Parke County.
