Hospital Guild holds book sale

The Putnam County Hospital Guild will sponsor a book sale in the hospital lobby today from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cantata choir practice begins tonight

A community Christmas cantata choir will begin practices at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Greencastle Presbyterian Church. The choir will perform Joseph Martin's cantata, "A World of Christmas," on Sunday, Dec. 12.

There will be two performances that day -- a 10 a.m. performance at the Greencastle Presbyterian Church and a 4 p.m. performance at the Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church.

Director of Music and accompanist is Cheryl Beck. Patrick Meyer will be the choir director.

Business seminar set for today

The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce will host a half-day seminar, "Managing Your Business by the Numbers," today.

The seminar will take place at the Putnam County Public Library from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and will be conducted by Dick Pittelkow, business consultant for West Central ISBDC.

A continental breakfast will be served. Cost is $10 per person.

Rummage, bake sale planned

A rummage and bake sale will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 202 E. Washington St., Greencastle, on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sept. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bean dinner planned for NPHS Homecoming

The North Putnam Alumni Association will be hosting a bean dinner Friday before the North Putnam varsity football homecoming game against Greencastle. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and will continue through kickoff.

Ham and beans, cornbread and delicious desserts will be provided by Delta Theta Tau Sorority.
