P. Corrine Hamilton Kirkpatrick, 87, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 in St. Elizabeth East Hospital. She had been residing in Bickford Cottage, Lafayette for the past several years.

She was born in West Lebanon on Dec. 31, 1922, the daughter of Earl and Zola Hall Hamilton.

On Feb. 14, 1954 she was married to Charles R. Kirkpatrick in West Lebanon; he preceded her in death on April 13, 2007.

Corrine graduated from West Lebanon High School and in 1944 graduated with a business degree from Indiana University. After her college graduation she assisted her father with Hamilton Funeral Homes in Williamsport-West Lebanon and also Hamilton's Appliances.

Following her marriage, she became a housewife and farm wife on the Kirkpatrick family farm near Wingate. She was involved with the Newtown Order of Eastern Star, Sewing Club, Research Club and Music Club. She was a former member the West Lebanon Christian Church and had attended Jackson Heights United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and craft fairs.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Lee (husband Howard Jr. 'Howdy') Rippy of Ladoga and Joan Marie 'Joanie' Kirkpatrick of Santa Clara, Calif; two grandchildren, Ryan Rippy (fiancé Whitney Pearson) and Rachel Rippy, both of Ladoga.

Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Paul Hamilton and an infant brother.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 8 p.m. with the Rev. William Scott officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Meharry Cemetery.
