Fire department extends thanks

To the Editor:

Sometimes thank you just doesn't seem to be enough.

We at the Fillmore Fire Department had our 51st chicken barbecue recently. Without the help of a great community effort, we couldn't have done it.

All the people who provided desserts and salads, thank you. All the businesses that donated prizes for us to give away, thank you.

The Fillmore Christian Church has a sign-up sheet in the church to help out any way they could. They provided a lot of help.

Thank you.

Bob Tyler put on the first antique car and tractor show, and we hope to continue that at the next barbecue.

The Putnam County Jail provided a lot of help setting up and tearing down. Thank you.

We had a great turnout, and now over two weeks later we are still getting checks from people who couldn't make it.

Thank you.

People say the little communities are on the way out. I thank God that Fillmore Community Fire Department is just a small part of a great community.

We have room for firefighters. If you are interested, please see any Fillmore firefighter or our meetings are on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:30 p.m.
