Friday, October 8, 2010

GREENCASTLE -- Ivy Tech Community College is gearing up for its annual College Transfer Fair on Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 915 S. Zinc Mill Road in Greencastle.

The College Transfer Fair was established to advise students on how their educational experience at Ivy Tech Community College can easily be continued to a four-year degree program.

Because Ivy Tech offers 74 different courses that transfer to all Indiana colleges and universities, and has more than 200 degree transfer agreements with four-year colleges, advancing majors or career paths is now a more seamless process.

Eight regional colleges that accept Ivy Tech credits are scheduled to attend this year's College Transfer Fair. Colleges represented include: Indiana State University, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Indiana Wesleyan University, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), Manchester College, Trine University, Indiana University and Harrison College.

Representatives from each institution will be on hand to provide information on admissions, financial aid and online courses.

The College Transfer Fair is open to students, alumni and the community. High school students and parents are also encouraged to attend.

Ivy Tech Community College is the state's largest public postsecondary institution and the nation's largest singly accredited statewide community college system serving nearly 200,000 students annually.

Ivy Tech has campuses throughout Indiana.

It serves as the state's engine of workforce development, offering affordable degree programs and training that are aligned with the needs of its community along with courses and programs that transfer to other colleges and universities in Indiana.

It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
