Billy G. Gregory, 73, of Reelsville, died Oct. 10, 2010 in a farming accident while helping a neighbor.

He was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Gallatin, Tenn., the son of Presley Lee and Ella Mae Gregory.

Billy began working construction at the age of 14. Billy worked for the Indianapolis Brick Layers Union as a journeyman bricklayer. After more than 30 years of service he was considered an expert in the trade.

Following retirement, he enjoyed helping friends, neighbors and family with all kinds of projects. He also enjoyed riding his Harley that he and his wife Donnie bought when he retired. He supported many charities by riding in their events.

He was a member of the Moose lodge in Greenfield and the Indianapolis South Side Harley Chapter.

Billy also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with friends, family and his dog Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Donnie Gregory; stepfather Dayton Stevens; brothers Claude Gregory and James Gregory; sisters Louise Noakes, Agnes Hanes and Mildred Gregory; and son Keith Hinton.

He is survived by his children, Sherry Gregory -- Gregg and Gary of Fountaintown; Ed Hinton and wife Kathy of Reelsville; Kim Hinton of Cloverdale; Richard Gregory and wife Theresa of Greenfield; Philip Hinton of Indianapolis; Tim Hinton of Greenwood; Chris Hinton and wife Tawney of Indianapolis; Shannon Gregory of Greencastle; Shane Gregory and wife Stephanie of Fillmore; Bobby Miles and wife Shelly of Ohio; and Vaughn O'fallon and wife Cindy of Beech Grove; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at French Funeral Home with Mark Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Croy's Creek Cemetery. The procession to the cemetery will be led by a Harley Davidson Hearse; bikers are welcome to join in his last ride.
